This is the "skyline view" in Cairns, Queensland located in far northeastern Australia. The city itself is sizable with just over 150,000 residents and has some impressive architectural features throughout, however the most dramatic views are of the surrounding rainforest and harbor. Sailboats filled the marinas as storm clouds rolled in over the mountains. It is from this city that most tourists board ships that take them out to the Great Barrier Reef if they intend on experiencing the dramatic underwater spectacle.

"Foggy Mountain" Photo of the Day: September 14, 2015
I remember rolling out of my tent around four in the morning in order to set up my camera equipment in time to catch the early morning light interacting with the fog in the Ozark National Forest. Sometimes it is completely worth it to get up early to get a few unique photos!

Photo of the Day: August 6, 2015 "Flooded Forest"
Here is an image that I shot earlier this week while walking some trails at Hyland Lake Park here in Minnesota. We came across this area of a lakefront that was inhabited by the remnants of the edge of the forest in the form of old trunks. The shore was absolutely covered in Green Leopard Frogs too!

Photo of the Day: July 24, 2015 "The Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains"
This was shot within the Blue Mountains National Park in New South Wales, Australia. I shot this while peering through the rainforest at the "Three Sisters" rock formation during a hike. This beautiful park has some of Australia's most stunning scenery and was a blast to explore!

Photo of the Day: July 21, 2015 "Yellowstone View"
This gorgeous view is located within the heart of Yellowstone National Park. This river has carved its way through the wilderness creating a beautiful flowing landscape that was a blast to photograph!

Photo of the Day: July 13, 2015 "Waterfall in the Blue Mountains"
Here is a photo that I took near the beginning of my recent trip to Australia, in the Blue Mountains National Park in New South Wales. I shot this from an observation point that gave a terrific view of this massive waterfall. Beautiful, right?

Photo of the Day: July 10, 2015 "Blue Mountains"
Because I depart tomorrow morning to return home to Minneapolis from my adventure here in Australia I thought that it was only appropriate to post a photograph of one of the first excursions that I had in the land down under, to the Blue Mountains National Park. Located about a 2 hours drive west of Sydney in New South Wales, this gorgeous mountain range is covered in a beautiful eucalypt forest. Truly one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen!

Photo of the Day: June 13, 2015
Why are the Blue Mountains in New South Wales covered in a "fog" of blue? The subtropical rainforest is made up primarily of eucalyptus trees, which have incredible oily leaves. This oil evaporates into the air where it mixes with dust and condensation creating a stunning blue hue over the enormous mountain range. Photo taken in Blue Mountains National Park, NSW, Australia.

READ FIRST (yes I know its long...): Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. So here is the thing: if you are following me on social media (which you probably should be but hey, I'm super biased) you already know this, but as for the rest of you I want to let you know that I will be starting to post a single photo everyday. Thats right, seven days a week 365 days a year. Most of these I imagine will be photos that I took on that specific day and will help act as an actual daily blog. Every once in a while I will obviously share photos NOT taken on their respective days as there are many photos that I like of mine that I would like to see incorporated into this. These photos of the day will be dispersed throughout my social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Instagram) along with being posted here on my blogspot blog. I hope you enjoy my photos and getting a more accurate peek into my everyday life! I will continue posting longer, less frequent (my goal is weekly) posts that are more in depth and focused on conversation rather than just displaying images. Without further ado, here is the first one.....
This photo was taken in Yellowstone National Park this past August. The way that water has shaped the landscape is incredible.
