"Baby Harbor Seal" Photo of the Day: August 27, 2015

This is a baby Harbor Seal on Whidbey Island, an island located off the coast of Washington, not too far off of the coast from Seattle. While hiking along the shoreline my group and I came across this adorable aquatic mammal resting on the shore. Hardly larger than a football, we kept our distance as I slapped a telephoto lens on my camera to get some shots of this adorable critter.

 Here is one of the photos that I captured today! My visit in Washington has been nothing short of spectacular. Not only is the city of Seattle awesome but the wildlife found in the surrounding areas is extraordinary!

Black-footed Penguin

 The African or Black-footed Penguin (Spheniscus demersus) are native to the coasts of southern Africa, with the most famous location being Boulders Beach near Cape Town. Standing over 25 inches tall, these large aquatic birds are quite popular in zoos and aquariums (I took this photos at a zoo in Washington).
