"Reef Life" Photo of the Day: October 15, 2015
"Reef Life." This is another photo from one of my dives on the Great Barrier Reef that borders the eastern coast of Australia. The sheer amount of life residing throughout this incredible ecosystem is truly extraordinary.

Photo of the Day: July 30, 2015 "The Diver's Descent"
Hi everyone! Here is a photograph that I took while scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef. When one exhales while scuba diving (unless they are using a rebreather) a cloud of bubbles rises to the surface. While we were making our initial descent to the reef, I captured this photo of my guide as one of her swarms of bubbles surrounded me. I call this image "The Diver's Descent".

Photo of the Day: July 26, 2015 "The Anemone"
This macro photograph was taken of a beautiful anemone while I was scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef. This particular spot had some strong currents and I had to focus my energy on staying stable so that I could get a couple of shots off before having to swim back into position for a couple of more shots until the process started over again. These incredible animals were made famous from the Pixar film "Finding Nemo" because of their common symbiotic relationships with Clown Fish.

The Great Barrier Reef is by far the largest living organism in the world and is the only one visible from outer space. Despite the fact that I got very seasick on the two hour trip out to the reef and threw up four times on the boat (in my defense the crew said that it was one of the roughest days on the water in a long time) what was waiting under the surface made it more than worth it. If you ever get the change to visit this beautiful underwater world, do it! #photooftheday #greatbarrierreef #nature #art#australia #underwater

Photo of the Day: June 30, 2015
This beautiful animal emerged from out of the blue while I was exploring the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Northeastern Australia this past Sunday. This dinner plate-sized Bluespotted Stingray (Dasyatis kuhlii) was one of the hundreds of incredible aquatic lifeforms that captivated me with their beauty that day. Isn't it cute??
