"The Pavilion" Photo of the Day: February 17, 2016
"The Pavilion." I shot this pavilion on Raspberry Island, an island in the center of the Mississippi River near downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. A bit chilly out but it was worth it!

"Autumn Vines" Photo of the Day: October 26, 2015
"Autumn Vines." The way that nature interacts with architecture throughout the seasons fascinates me. It is frequently stunningly beautiful, as seen here on the University of Minnesota campus.

"Purple Sunset" Photo of the Day: September 13, 2015
Yesterday evening I spent a good deal of time wandering throughout the parks surrounding the historic Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis. During a dazzling sunset, I made my way to the shore of the Mississippi River to get some photographs of the dramatic purple colors. Here in Minnesota, god is a Vikings fan!

"Mississippi Transportation" Photo of the Day: August 14, 2015
This is the Mississippi River as it flows near downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. I set up this shot under a bridge and waited for boats to zip by to add to the composition. One of the things that photography has taught me is that patience pays off!

"Ionic Colonnade" Photo of the Day: August 13, 2015
I shot this one winter evening at Northrup Auditorium on the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus. I remember it being unbelievably cold and my fingers were numb for quite a while afterwards!

Photo of the Day: August 5, 2015 "Tower in Winter"
While wandering around Loring Park near downtown Minneapolis this past March, I photographed this apartment tower amongst some beautiful cloud cover. The way that the clouds appeared to be painted in the sky is one of my favorite things about this photo.

Photo of the Day: August 3, 2015 "Heights"
Reaching towards the sky...at varying heights! This photograph was shot in Chicago within Millennium Park. Finding unique perspectives to shoot common subjects at can be a challenge in photography, however it is always rewarding to capture something unique!

Photo of the Day: August 1, 2015 "The Window"
Simplicity and quietness are what this photograph is about, so I will keep my text short. Sometimes overbearing complexity takes away from an image.

Photo of the Day: July 31, 2015 "Nighttime Street"
I love shooting at night, it is one of my favorite things to do! There is something very rewarding about capturing nice photographs in low light situations and seeing how light interacts with an environment. This particular photo was shot this past Spring from the top of a parking garage late at night in Minneapolis. Overlooking a neighborhood with large student housing looming in the background, it was a challenge to get the exposures that I wanted to properly show how the illumination from the streetlights affected the street and buildings.

Photo of the Day: July 29, 2015 "The Door"
"The Door." This late night photograph was taken this past winter around midnight. While out photographing the older buildings on the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus (one of the few university campuses with sections under the protection of the National Register of Historic Places) I came across this scene. A steep stairwell led down to a door intensely illuminated by a red light creating an almost creepy atmosphere!

Photo of the Day: July 28, 2015 "Frigid Illumination"
Here is an excerpt from my photography portfolio website on my image called Frigid Illumination. "In the frigid temperatures of a February night in Minneapolis, I photographed this student sitting among a collection of murals alongside a building on the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus. My hands have yet to forgive me for exposing them to the cold for so long while shooting, but some of the results were excellent." Visit my site at: http://www.wyattproschphotography.com/

Photo of the Day: July 22, 2015 "The Barbershop"
This is a photo that I took while wandering about Sydney, Australia late at night during my recent trip. I was without a tripod and it was incredibly dark so I had to push my ISO number higher to get an appropriate exposure without any blur, resulting in quite a bit of noise (or grain). I am not one to extensively edit my photographs, as I only like to use post-processing as a way to get my photos to appear as they did to my naked eye while shooting. However, I played around with this photo a bit more than I normally would have. Rather than fighting the noise I decided to strengthen it, giving the image a unique old-fashioned appearance. What do you think of the final product?

Photo of the Day: July 20, 2015 "Foshay Tower Amongst IDS Giants"
The Foshay Tower in downtown Minneapolis is one of my favorite buildings. The historic 447 foot tall tower (607 feet tall counting the antenna mast) was completed in 1929 as one of the tallest buildings in the world. The gorgeous art deco facade was kept perfectly intact when the interior was renovated into a hotel in 2008 and it is under the National Register of Historic Places. This was shot from Nicollet Avenue looking in between the IDS Center's main tower on the right and one of its smaller office highrises on the left.

Photo of the Day: July 19, 2015 "Bruininks Hall, University of Minnesota"
I took this photo on the University of Minnesota campus the other evening of Bruininks Hall, formerly known as the STSS Building. As the light faded I found the interesting ceiling of the interior of the building was visible through the towering windows. I personally think that this is one of the most beautiful buildings on the campus!

Photo of the Day: July 18, 2015 "Darling Harbor Skyline"
I think that I will continue posting photos from my recent trip to Australia until people really get annoyed! Here is yet another photo from Darling Harbor in Sydney that I took late at night. The hustle and bustle of this harbor created an incredible environment revolving around the gorgeous water. The "Darling Harbor skyline" isn't too bad, is it?
